We came to stay at the Western Front for a few days just after getting married. St. Paul is a charming town with a ton of outdoors activities. We hiking at local spots (Devil's Bathtub was a bit of a drive, but worth it; and Sugar Hill was a great close hike), walked around downtown, and ate at Sugar Hill Brewery and Milton's. The food was AMAZING. The room at the Western Front was cozy and a clean. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and plan on coming back!
If you have never stayed in one of these boutique hotels, you don't know what you're missing. My wife and I recently visited the Western Front and...we like to think of ourselves as somewhat hotel connoisseurs. We're not the complaining type...more like serious personal critiquers. Everything about this experience was absolutely top-notch and...in a small town to boot. This area is too beautiful to describe with words. We probably couldn't have stayed at a prettier time of year...mid June when everything is just so green. Also, there are plenty of outdoor activities to do. I would suggest doing some research of the area before planning your trip. There are several interesting little towns as well as this one. However, this hotel is where you will want to stay!
